In the ESV, this is verse 1:
Be gracious to me, O God, for man tramples on me; all day long an attacker oppresses me.
although the German translation is something more like:
God, be merciful to me, for men are after me; daily, they fight and harass me.
The repetition involved in these rhetorical devices provides a sense of this constancy.
